If you are not rushed, then your opponent will sit back, mass culverin + infantry, and there's not a whole lot you can do, even with bombards and spahi. Now most people might be upset to find a lack of straight FI in this guide, but the reality is that a straight FI is not a good strategy. This is largely due to its riskiness and the lack of understanding the proper ways to FF/FI with Ottoman. Feared by many, but so rare many players will go hundreds of games without seeing one. Ottoman FF, and specifically FI, is one of the most fabled strategies in AOE3. Try it once, and I guarantee you'll be hooked. They feel that they are discarding Ottos biggest advantage (Otto supremacy), but the fact is that Ottoman FF/FI is simply so powerful. Most otto players are afraid to try an FF, or *gasp* an FI. This guide will consist of multiple FF/FI, and semi strategies, starting with my favorite Ottoman strategy, the Church Semi-FI. My 1v1 winning percentage with Otto is above 80%. For most of 2008 I was the highest ranked 1v1 Otto player on ESO2, and am currently the third highest ranked Otto player (after almost a year of inactivity). I have been writing Otto guides for years and with thousands of Otto matches under my belt, I am one of the few consistent otto players left.
